Questions about granite:Who are you? We have 15 years experience in the kitchen industry, 25 years in building. Our stone fitters have many years experience and our main production unit in China has been in operation for 13 years. Why are your prices so low compared to my local showroom? We import pre-cut worktop blanks where a lot of the production is in China or India and there is a lot less wastage then from cutting from large slabs. Using this method of production, and by removing the need for showrooms and sales staff, we are able to greatly reduce the cost of your worktops. Can you give me a quotation on the telephone? Yes, however we need a drawing of your kitchen layout in order to complete our quotation. Please send, fax or email one to us. Read about our purchase/installation process. Can I see the Granite before fitting? Yes, we are happy to send you a free sample (£5 charge for postage & packing). If you wish to view large slabs before installation then you can come to Charlwood - please contact the office to arrange this. Do you install worktops anywhere in the UK? Yes, view full details of our installation service Should we tile the walls before fitting the tops? No Can you see the joints? Our maximum joint size is 3mm and the colour of the jointing compound will be colour matched to minimise visibility. Some colours will show the joints more than others. Should my wall units be fitted before you come? It is preferable not to fit the wall units first, although sometimes for example where you are replacing existing worktops this is not possible. Dressers or boiler cabinets that come down to the worktops must not be fitted. How should I prepare for your arrival? Tea with milk! Seriously though, your cabinets should be level to within 3mm and supports must be provided in corners and over any gaps Will I need to be there when you install my worktops? Yes, to approve your granite and pay us on our satisfactory completion Do you offer a templating service? Yes - read more on granite templeting What is the difference between and upstand and a splashback? See photo examples of both upstands & splashbacks Will you plumb in my sink / fit my cooker? No, your plumber/electrician/gas installer will need to do this. Can I just replace my existing worktops? Yes, but you will need to remove the existing worktops before we arrive and arrange for disconnection and reconnection of services. Please also note that the existing worktops may be thicker than the granite which is 30mm ±2mm. Where do you deliver? We cover all of the UK. An additional charge may be made for fitting in areas which are a significant distance from our warehouse at Charlwood (nr Gatwick). Small orders may incur a delay during busy periods. We are also able to supply, though not fit, in other parts of the EU. Please read our Terms and Conditions How do I best care for my worktops? Please view our care and maintenance page What type of sink is best to go with my new granite worktops? |
