Affordable Granite: Who are we?

We are a relatively small family business priding ourselves on providing a high quality product coupled with high levels of service – at an affordable price. We may not offer every possible thickness, finish or edge profile of granite worktops FAQ but what we do we do extremely well so that we can ensure total customer satisfaction. Please visit Checkatrade to see some of our reviews.

We buy granite in bulk through trusted UK-based suppliers. They in turn buy from quarries and slab manufacturers in Europe, Southern Africa, Brazil and India. We also stock quartz from leading manufacturers, either through their own UK-based infrastructure or via wholesalers who are their official agents. Dekton comes directly from Cosentino, the sole manufacturer. We seek to develop commercial relations with manufacturers and suppliers who have a good track record so far as environmental and humanitarian issues are concerned.

We have an extremely experienced team of stonemasons who operate a workshop equipped with state of the art machinery. Our installation and templating teams are led by stonemasons who also have many years in the kitchen industry.

The Affordable Granite sales team are highly experienced in kitchen planning and design and have extensive knowledge of the granite and quartz industry.  They are here to help both direct customers and trade to make sure that they select the best products for their needs, at the right price.

All of our team are directly employed by Affordable Granite so no work is contracted out, no matter how busy we are. This means that we can be sure that all our customers benefit from our experience, unequalled levels of service and are provided with worktops at the best possible price. Meet the whole team here.

We buy a large proportion of our stone in bulk from regular suppliers. We stock a relatively narrow range of materials, and that helps with the bulk-buying and solid discounts, which are passed on to you, the customer. All of this allows us to greatly reduce the cost of your worktops.

Yes, however it is helpful if you have a drawing or sketch of the kitchen layout for us to give you a really accurate quotation. Please send, fax or email one to us. Read about our purchase/installation process.

Yes, we are happy to send you a free sample (£7.50 charge for postage & packing). If you wish to view large slabs before installation then you can come to Charlwood – please contact the office to arrange this.

Yes, we do offer a bespoke service for those who want something different to the standard colours – see some of the bespoke granite colours

Yes we offer a full bespoke granite worktop service – see details of our bespoke worktops here

We have done over the years, but our kitchen worktop installations are mostly concentrated in the London, Surrey, Sussex and the South East area. This makes both environmental and economic sense. Please see full details of our installation service.

Our maximum joint size is 3mm and the colour of the jointing compound will be colour matched to minimise visibility. Some colours will show the joints more than others.

It is preferable not to fit the wall units first, although sometimes for example where you are replacing existing worktops, this is not possible. Dressers or boiler cabinets that come down to the worktops must not be fitted.

Tea with milk! Seriously though, your cabinets should be level to within 3mm and supports must be provided in corners and over any gaps.

Yes, you will need to be present to approve your granite and pay us on our satisfactory completion.

No, your plumber/electrician/gas installer will need to do this.

Yes, but you will need to remove the existing worktops before we arrive and arrange for disconnection and reconnection of services. Please also note that the existing worktops may be thicker than the granite which is 30mm ±2mm.

We can deliver on a supply only basis to all of the UK. If you require installation then an additional charge will be made for fitting in areas which are a significant distance from our workshop at Charlwood (near Gatwick), If you are outside London and the home counties you may find that it will be more economically viable to find a local installer. Small orders may incur a delay during busy periods. Please see “Install areas and Costs” We are also able to supply, though not fit, in other parts of the EU. Please read our Terms and Conditions.
