NEW QUARTZ WORKTOPS FROM CAESARSTONE

Focus on Four New Caesarstone Quartz Samples

p1210686a

As ever, Caesarstone are right at the forefront in developing new quartz worktop colours which are bang on trend – that earthy grey, marble or natural look is extremely popular, as is the range of concrete-type colours. Here are four samples that they sent through for inspection. For a more general view of Caesarstone quartz worktops, please see here.

6134 Georgian Bluffs

I first saw this material at KBB show London earlier this year and was impressed by it then. The background grey with subtle stronger grey veining, delicate paler veins and overall marbling give it a really sophisticated look. The sample shown here is in a traditional polished finish which will be easier to keep clean than some of its more matte brothers.

6270 Atlantic Salt

This material is really exciting because it is markedly different to all the marble-look and concrete look greys currently springing onto the market. With its varied granular texture it has a real natural stone / granite worktop look. A granite as light in colour as this would almost certainly need regular resealing, but being quartz this material is sealed by its plastic content. The variation in size and tone of the grains in Atlantic Salt mean that it could go with almost any grey unit door, as well as white, cashmere or stone. Comparing it with our Farrow & Ball chart there are grey tones similar to the warmth of “Light Gray” through to the bluer grey of “Worsted” and a plethora of lighter greys in between.

4003 Sleek Concrete

This is a matte finish material which has, as the name suggests, a sleek concrete look. This type of look works really well in a minimal contemporary setting. A lot of customers like the slightly more matte finish particularly as a contrast to gloss slab or handless doors. Although the matte finish is very popular currently, in our opinion, we feel that it is harder to maintain on a day to day basis than a polished finish.

4033 Rugged Concrete

This concrete finish is, also as the name suggests, very rugged in texture and appearance. I think that this heavily textured surface may be more tricky to maintain. I would probably recommend this material as more of a feature piece for a breakfast bar than for the main working areas of the kitchen.
