The White Stuff: White materials for kitchen worktops

We now hold a wider range of man-made stone materials for worktops than we ever have before, and we thought it was about time we produced a comparative image to show off the current lines.

White stock quartz and Dekton April 2015 red

Blanco Paloma from Quarella of Italy. After selling Cimstone’s Arcadia as our stock granular white quartz in the Superior price band for a number of years, we recently had a few supply issues and have swapped over to this material from Quarella. The two are very similar – most people could probably only tell them apart if placed side by side – and we have been very happy with the quality and consistency of the material thus far.

Nexus from Quantra of India. This very pure white is sold in our Premium Price Band and represents the best value we have yet been able to offer in the pure white material type. Nexus is not as pure or as white as, say, Blanco Zeus Extreme from Silestone, but represents great value for money as the price for your kitchen worktops in this material will be significantly easier on the pocket.

Blanco Stellar Silestone from Cosentino of Spain. Due to the volume of material that we are now purchasing from Cosentino, we are now able to offer a discount that places this product and its fellow engineered stones in the Stellar range, at our normal Premium Price. This is one of the best and most consistent sparkly whites we have seen and we are delighted that we can now offer it as a stock material.

Blanco Massa from Beltrami. This is our most economical marble-emulating engineered stone yet, and we sell it in our Premium Plus price band. A bright white with faint grey randomised marbling, it is a good stone for anyone basically looking for a pure white that has something of a natural look.

Marbre Carrara by Classic Quartz. This stone is similar to Blanco Massa but slightly darker and more translucent, with a stronger, slightly grey green marbling. Most customers seem to prefer this stone over the Blanco Massa, but it is a matter of personal taste. The price is somewhat higher – about 12% above the material cost of the Premium Plus range.

Dekton Zenith by Cosentino. This product is part of the very latest trend in man-made materials. The benefits of Dekton can be seen very fully on our sister site here suffice to say that Zenith offers a stunning, pure, matt, warm white for worktops that is as easy to clean as any light coloured material we have ever seen. It sells in our Dekton 3 price band.
