COSENTINO ÉCLOS®LAUNCH

Our Sales Team – Naomi, Andrew Annabel and Cassie – headed down to Cosentino Hook, Hants, for the launch of Éclos®. This was not just a new Silestone or Dekton product range, but the launch of a whole new brand and material family. We were excited!

Previous major launches at Cosentino Hook have been grand affairs with senior management over from Spain, introductory videos and the like. We were expecting similar, and were struck by what was a fairly low-key occasion. But it was great to see the slabs in person, and the pizza was excellent and very welcome!

What follows is in large part based on what we had already heard about Éclos – a whole product range which claims a number o0f very significant advantages. 

Éclos is:

• Created using a layered technology, with the pattern being printed in on multiple strata, with the full pattern only visible on the surface. From what we understand it is therefore semi-full-bodied, but with a highly naturalistic surface finish. All of the slabs we saw seemed to be slightly off the high shine of a full polish, having a very pleasant silkiness to the touch
• More resistant to high temperatures than quartz through the use of different resin in the bonding
• Very low in its crystalline silica content – a welcome help to kitchen worktop fabricators

Éclos Ivora is a lovely copy of a Bianco Macaubas. The natural stone is very expensive, horrible to work with and highly porous and stainable in your kitchen – Ivora sounds like a great idea!

Éclos Landr – naturalistic gold and grey veins make Landr a well-placed worktop stone for the current UK market.

Éclos Legnd – a warm veined brown bringing earthy colour into the home – really lovely!

Éclos Lumer – a tracery of gold veins on a white background

Éclos Phantome – a lovely deep tone with a hint of warmth and even the very occasional sparkle – we were very enthusiastic about this stone, although also concerned that (in common with other very dark materials) it seemed to show finger marks quite easily

Éclos Sandr – a delicate travertine look with plenty going on, making this, in our view, a very liveable-with worktop stone

Éclos Tajnar – a great copy of the immensely popular Taj Mahal quartzite

Éclos Vancor – warm veins with delicate white sub veins – I have kept the brightness down on the detail image here so that you can see what is going on in the pattern

Éclos Veilr – another really warm stone, with a soft mistiness in the pattern

Éclos Wondr – last but by no means least, superficially one of the more monochrome stones in the launch, but with bold veins and more colour than you see at first glance

We really enjoyed the evening, with a chance to talk together on the journey and meet other professionals in our industry. And we love the Éclos products!
