NEW CNC: THE WEEK A YELLOW LORRY CAME TO STAY

Upgrading our CNC - Ongoing investment in a fully-equipped workshop

One thing that all of us here appreciate is that our MD and Owner, Andy, is committed to a constant programme of investment in the factory. Be it a new van, a new saw or a new CNC, we see regular renewing and upgrading of all the bits of kit which do the heavy lifting in our business.

This week has been extremely busy and pressured in our sales department as orders come in for the spring rush, so my time for blogging has been squeezed into the closing minutes of Friday afternoon. A fuller analysis of what the CNC will do, and of our wider upgrade programme, will have to wait for another time. For today, here are some pictures of the week the yellow lorry came to stay…

The Week The Yellow Lorry Came to Stay

It didn’t start with the yellow lorry, of course. It started with a rather more beaten-up vehicle arriving to take away our old CNC. The programme of capital investment here is to never run machinery into the ground, but to sell well they still have some value, and then throw that money forward into the new bits of kit. So this week, we waved goodbye to our first big Intermacc CNC, which will go on working for a smaller company somewhere up north. We had that machine since April 2015 – years of tremendous growth for us, and many of you have sink cutouts done on it.

Meanwhile, the big yellow lorry is all ship-shape again, ready to return to Bulgaria. Though just reversing out of the farm yard is going to take him a while!
