Introducing Silestone Coral Clay and Sensa Colonial White – Affordable Granite Surrey Ltd

We are delighted to be adding two new products to our stock range of natural and engineered stones. As it happens, both are supplied by Cosentino of Spain, with whom we have built up a strong relationship over the years. As a result, we can offer these excellent stones at a very advantageous price, as we pass our significant “Gold Fabricator Status” discount on to our customers.

Silestone Coral Clay

With the popularity of marble look quartz at the moment, and the fact that we already stock three white/off-white options, we were on the look out for a beige “Botticino” style quartz. As soon as Silestone launched Coral Clay we found it to be a reasonable price and popular with customers, and on that basis we have decided to hold it as a stock quartz. We can sell it in our Premium Plus price band, the same as the Emerald Pearl and Blue Pearl Granites, and the Blanco Massa white marble-style quartz. Coral Clay is available in 20mm and 30mm thickness.

Sensa Colonial White Granite

White natural stones have been very popular over the last few years – in fact it has been the very popularity of this look which has led to the rush of quartz manufacturers bringing out white marble-look slabs. What is generally sold as granite actually covers a wide range of stones, with many of the lighter-coloured materials being types of feldspar schist. These stones are relatively more porous than their darker cousins, and, being light in colour, are more inclined to show any staining agent that does manage to penetrate.

We seal all of our lighter stones on installation, and recommend resealing whenever there is any sign of water penetration. You can read about this in our article here.

However, the people at Cosentino have developed a way of applying sealant under vacuum, forcing the liquid deep into the stone. They are offering a fifteen year guarantee on materials produced in this way. Our feeling is that the stone they are using for this purpose is of exceptional initial quality in any case, with good natural patterning and plenty of interest.

We are happy to be able to offer Sensa Colonial White in our Premium Plus price band – just one band above the Premium band where our “ordinary” Colonial White is placed. We think that many customers will consider the relatively small extra cost worth paying for the peace of mind and confidence that results.
