QUARTZ WORKTOPS: ONE WEEK OF WORKTOP INSTALLATIONS

This Roma Grey quartz worktops installation in West Byfleet was a project in conjunction with our friends at Norden Kitchens of Ewell. Roma Grey is an excellent material, a classy, warm, soft-grey marble, which gave a great contrast on those dark teal units. The big island and worktops have a bespoke ogee-type edge profile, as chosen by the customer. Our fitters completed the installation, and then wrapped those edges with protectors as there was still other work going on.

This Bianco Shimmer quartz worktops installation in Lingfield was also a Norden Kitchens project.  The trend to subtle sparkle white worktops continues, with this product being a bespoke alterantive to our regular Lumina Astral White.

Cimstone Cortina quartz worktops have been a massive seller for us over the last year and more. The strong white background and the delicate grey vein are what people are looking for at the moment – we have fitted hundreds of worktops in this stone.

It was great to work with Nick Geard Furniture again on this prestigious project in rural Hertfordshire. Nick is our neighbour on the farm here – and in fact, since the departure of the Wine Society for pastures new, he is explanding into the unit immediately beside our office. Like the Marbre Carrara in Westminster installation, this was once again a case of a relatively economical stone being fitted into a very high-end kitchen. There are affordable ways to get great impact from your granite or quartz worktops!

Note – the kitchen was very much a work in progress at the time we installed!

This Lagoon quartz worktops installation in Hanwell was a collaboration with our friend Helen Bajaj at Goodwill Living. Helen is not our most frequent trade customer, but is certainly one of the longest standing – I remember doing work for her over a decade ago in my earliest days at AG. It was great to be working with her again in this West London kitchen project.

Silestone Lagoon is a “first generation” marble-look quartz which we don’t see that often these days, but which can still really sing when teamed with the right units. Those dark cupboards are perfect – once this compact but high quality kitchen is finished, the quartz worktops will do a lot to bring light right into the working space.

We are no longer stocking Caesarstone Clamshell as a regular product. I think that’s a bit of a shame – I really like the “fossil” textures in the pattern, and the way this limestone copy works in so many different kitchen settings. It is a long way off white, when viewed next to a white quartz, but in the context of those colourful tiles, it looks very bright indeed!

Clamshell is still available on a bought-in basis – one of the best when it comes to surface quality and ease of living in a working kitchen.

We love quartz worktop installations in Reigate! It stands to reason – any home that is only 20 minutes drive from our granite worktop factory is worth a very favourable quotation! It is always good to be working with Silestone Blanco Stellar quartz too – THE classic white mirror quartz. It machines well, goes in well, looks good and is a great working surface in the kitchen.

Ice Branco from Classic Quartz used to be our stock white sparkly quartz. It has been superseded in our listing by Astral White from Lumina – but we still get some requests for it. This kitchen in nearby Crawley was still in need of much decorating work when our fitters completed their worktop installation.

Our entry-level marble-look quartz is AG Carrara (formerly Affordable Carrara.) It is incredible value for the look – and has shown itself to be robust, dependable and practical in the home.

Another example of Cortina quartz worktops on a quality kitchen with darker units. This installation in Dorking, Surrey is also an example of a local fit – Dorking is only 20 minutes or so from our Charlwood factory, showroom and office.

And at last – a big vein installation! We have actually installed many sets of Calacatta Gold quartz worktops over the last year or two – this week had to have one set in it! This project was in collaboration with our good friends at Sussex Kitchen Designs. They are good people to work with, and it is always a pleasure to do another worktops installation for them.
