NATURAL STONE (GRANITE) V ENGINEERED STONE (QUARTZ)

Walking past our workshop this afternoon two sets of worktops caught my eye – cut and polished and on the racks ready to be loaded onto our vans for delivery and installation.

Ivory and Alpina 001 red

On my right, Silestone Alpina White – a stunning mottled quartz in creamy white and light grey/brown.

Ivory and Alpina 003 red

On my left, Ivory Fantasy – a wild mix of cream, grey, beige and black, with larger scale pattern running across some slabs.

Both sets of worktops look beautiful. The granite definitely looks the more natural, but this Silestone doesn’t scream that it is man-made. Both colours will be excellent in not showing smears and dust. Ivory Fantasy will need more long-term maintenance as it will probably require annual resealing. The Alpina White is significantly more expensive.

Either way, we look forward to installing these for our customers, and I am sure they will be happy. The Alpina White is off to West Wickham and the Ivory Fantasy is to be installed in Tooting, South London.
