Granite Worktops in East Sussex? Yes, we do! Although West Sussex is our nearer neighbour here in Charlwood, Brighton and Hastings, Crowborough and Eastbourne all see our templating and fitting teams on a regular basis.
East Sussex is a little larger in area than West Sussex, and a little smaller in population. I guess the big, “blank” spaces of the Ashdown Forest and the Seven Sisters (part of the South Downs National Park) account for some of that difference. But the conurbation of Brighton and Hove, and the densely populated strip from Eastbourne through Bexhill to Hastings have a lot of homes – and homeowners keen to keep their kitchens in great shape. With over three quarters of a million people in the county, East Sussex is a serious market for granite worktops. Affordable Granite is glad to be close by!

East Sussex people seem to love real granite worktops. Natural stone works well in traditional homes. Country kitchens, converted oast houses, old fisherman’s cottages – all of them need quality, traditional stone to be in keeping with beams, lattice windows, Agas and the rest. We have installed many granite worktops right across East Sussex, with classic stones like Labrador Antique or Emerald Pearl being prominent alongside our more inexpensive stones.

Although Hastings or Rye are a fair way from us (more than an hour and a half by van), installing granite worktops in most of East Sussex means only an hour or so en route. East Sussex is not hard for us!
On top of this, our warm relationship with HKS, with their showrooms in Eastbourne, Heathfield and Haywards Heath, keeps drawing us down into the eastern half of the county.

I love East Sussex. As you drive Eastwards from Brighton you can feel the landscape change. The oast houses begin long before you get to Kent. White weatherboarding on the houses, rolling and deeply wooded countryside, wonderful earthy Englishness, Harvey’s beer in the pubs, oak trees and chalk cliffs – it’s all here to enjoy. I now live in London, but I relish every chance to get down into East Sussex on granite worktop business or with my camera.

There is a lot of variety in East Sussex. Mansions and Regency Era townhouses; cottages and fishing huts, oasthouses (fitting granite worktops in a circular kitchen was a serious challenge!) and modern estates – its all here. Not far off the route between Haywards Heath and Uckfield, Sheffield Park Gardens (National Trust) is one of East Sussex’ most beautiful spots.Â
