Quartz and Granite Kitchen Worktops and Trends this Autumn II
Two Extra Moodboards
Last week’s article on Autumn trends only scratched the surface of some of our recent work with moodboards. This week Naomi follows up with two more moodboards, photographed last week in the Affordable Granite studio. More ideas and more stimulus for your kitchen decor plans!
Caesarstone Taj Royale and AG Calacatta Gold Quartz Worktops
We are really excited to introduce this new stone from Caesarstone: Taj Royale. It is so new, we only received the sample today. I can see, already, that it is going to be a hit with our customers because of the lovely coppery-gold marbling and natural stone colour background. Like a lot of the Caesarstone range, the full beauty of the design is best seen in large format, so we would recommend visiting their centre at Enfield. I think that it looks beautiful next to this hand-painted, solid wood, dark blue door. If the customer requires a whiter background, I have included our AG Calacatta Gold as an option on this moodboard.
Accompanying paint colours are Ivory Lace and (one of my favourite things) Peanut Butter from Dulux and some dark blue coordinating paint colours from Little Greene. I’ve teamed the scheme with this lush Rust colour velvet and the Cuprum glass for splash-back, from Southern Counties Glass. Also shown is the brushed copper PVD sample for Clearwater taps. The flooring is Parquet Sawbury Engineered, Smoked Oak, brushed and oiled from Flooring 365.
Quartzforms Ocean Reef Quartz Worktops
I simply love Quartzforms Ocean Reef Quartz stone with the Zurfiz door in Serica Matt plum. As mentioned in my article last week, this winter and next year we are going to see more customers choosing coloured cabinets and I think this combination works really well. I have chosen a lovely geometric fabric to go with it: Nico Mulberry from Customer Curtains. The Geometric print is quite small so doesn’t fight with the larger pattern of the Ocean Reef. The background tone of the fabric adds some warmth to the whiteness of the quartz and is beautifully complimented by the chosen paint colours, Dulux Muddy Puddle and Iced Frappe. Checks and tartans are also set to make a comeback; because of this I selected this Traditional check in beige and Red from I love wallpaper, which I think you will agree, looks fabulous with the plum door.
As I say, I love Quartzforms Ocean Reef, although colleagues have suggested that a bathroom dressed in this stone might look a little like a scene from a slasher movie. It needs to paired carefully and perhaps used in one part of a room only.
We are on the slope towards Christmas, now, folks! The Bank Holidays are gone, summer holidays are a distant memory and we have mists and fog and darker evenings to look forward to. For us in the granite kitchen worktops business it is a busy time of year, as many people aim to get their kitchen sorted before the Christmas holiday. Although our product is not seasonal in itself – no one buys a set of solid stone worktops for three months! – the seasons affecting fashion and home decor in general do affect us.
Whatever your cup of tea in quartz or granite worktops, we are confident that we can find products that you will love and which will suit both your taste and your budget. And if you can wait until the New year for your worktops, be sure to check out our Special Offer – really worth it! Send us your kitchen plans – even early-stage – for a no-obligation quotation. And have a lovely Autumn!
