THE AFFORDABLE GRANITE CHRISTMAS CARD 2021

The AG Christmas Card, 2021

Dear Customers, Suppliers and Friends of the Company

It’s that Christmas Card time of year again! How quickly it comes round – it doesn’t seem a year since the last time that Christmas didn’t quite seem normal – you remember? December has arrived with Boris still making televised appeals to get injected, and you could be forgiven for having a sinking sense of déjà vu. We hope that you and yours are well and will stay so through this winter.

Here at Affordable Granite the year has been a solid one, under the circumstances. We have tried hard to stay on track with the ever-changing guidelines, to keep within the law and keep our staff and customers safe. Aside from one “pingdemic” week, we have been able to maintain a good rate of installations. We have been affected, like all building trades, by bottlenecks and price increases in material supply, but by and large have managed to keep our customers happy with their first choice stone worktop.

We have continued investing in our staff during the year. 2021 has seen several new team members: Bruno and Spencer have joined the workshop team and Faread has come on board as a templator. They bring with them a variety of skills, enthusiasm and personality to the team. We are sad to be losing Jakub who after 12 years with the company is moving away to pursue his passion for aerial photography; we wish him all the best.

We love how this young Pole who has made the UK his home
has more knowledge of and love for our landscapes than many of us…
we wish you and
Agnieszka every success, Kuba!

The kitchen worktop industry has continued to develop and to see the shifts of trend and fashion, just as usual. We have sold an awesome quantity of white, marble-look quartz this year, still with a strong counter-current of darker, patterned granites. Looking forward into 2022, many suppliers are increasing their prices; we will need to amend our own pricing in due course. There has also been some innovation in the quartz market with new lower silica content products emerging which is good news for our staff. We expect some continuation of the market volatility as building projects are delayed due to the high cost of materials, but hope that our broad range of customers will continue to prosper.

Once again, we are sending this Christmas card in lieu of printed versions; once again we are supporting a charity. This year it is Macmillan Cancer Support, who have been an incredible help through recent years for the family of one of staff members.

Thank you for your business, your continued support and teamwork with us through another year. Our second picture is of a winter’s dawn on John Lory farm. We wish you and yours all the best for 2022. May the New Year bring us all a new ray of hope, with health and prosperity ahead.
