SILESTONE LOFT SERIES AND ETHEREAL RANGE PART II

Two new ranges of materials from Quartz Worktop Giants Silestone

Last week in the first installment of this two-parter, I looked at Silestone’s new Loft Series of Hybriq+ materials. This week we look at the Ethereal range – a selection of high end, marble-look engineered stones with the same enviable parameters when it comes to energy sources, water treatment and general recycling.

Silestone Hybriq+ Ethereal Range

Silestone are lyrical about the new Ethereal Range:

“The Ethereal Collection celebrates nature through both its aesthetic and new industry-transforming sustainable manufacturing practices. It showcases the metamorphosis of the Silestone brand and its future, while embodying our strategic response as an industry leader to the global design world’s demands for more sustainable products — without compromising on design or performance.” Eduardo Cosentino, CEO of Cosentino North America and EVP of Global Sales

“Ethereal, an evolution of our acclaimed Eternal Collection, interprets the dreamlike beauty of the sky by drawing fine veins of deep hues on white canvases. The result: Silestone’s most advanced and cutting-edge series, a redefinition of veining that creates a new category in performance and design. The Cosentino USA website

Silestone Ethereal Range: Dusk Quartz Worktops

The blueish tones of Silestone Ethereal Dusk are supposed to be reminiscent of the so-called “blue hour” just before dawn or night. The veining is blocky and geometric, given the stone a modern, clean look, well-suited to today’s minimalist kitchen designs.

Silestone Ethereal Range: Glow Quartz Worktops

With Ethereal Glow, Silestone are clearly looking to follow up on the enormous success of their Eternal Calacatta Gold – a quartz worktop whose veining and gold tinge hav become a benchmark in our industry. Glow has a little more colour, a little more vein. We think it will do very well indeed.

Silestone Ethereal Range: Haze Quartz Worktops

Ethereal Haze is a beautiful stone that has suffered more than most from the Cosentino copywriters gushiness. “This design conveys both calm and character thanks to an interplay of gradients which blend into pure neutrality” doesn’t really float my boat, but the well-balanced and positive interaction of the veins makes up for it, fortunately.

Silestone Ethereal Range: Noctis Quartz Worktops

The strongest veined of the four, Noctis has a very definite black banding for those who are looking for a clear and lively contrast on contemporary kitchen units. A bold choice!

Silestone Hybriq+ Ethereal Range

The Ethereal Range gives you the kind of design flair that made the Silestone Eternal Range such an industry milestone, and shifts up up a gear for the next decade. The four designs are very similar, in some ways, but with so many customers looking for white marbled quartz which is just a LITTLE bit darker, bluer, creamier or whatever, there is room in the market for some very refined choices. Let’s see how Dusk, Glow, Haze and Noctis fare over the coming years.
