DESIGN AND SUSTAINABILITY

This month we have had a number of collaborations flowing through the staff at Affordable Granite, where sustainability has been partnered with design.  Our experienced sales and manufacturing teams thrive on helping customers deliver their vision in stone. Even when working with engineered products,  sustainability can be achieved through use of bin-end and offcut stock, which might otherwise go to landfill.

This month we completed a stunning project in Pimlico where the interior designers gave us a design and a pallete of colours, and challenged us to propose the materials.  This engaged consultation let to a half-dozen unique bathroom vanities, alongside a fabulous kitchen without compromising the designs.

Another customer in Epsom challenged us to make a custom shelf to cover an impossible void.  With a combination of accurate manufacture and a rummage through the remnant stock, the result is a perfect fit which compliments the existing tiles. Because of the use of remnant material, the cost was kept down for our clients and sustainability was maximised.

The most exciting project through this period has been the inspirational collaboration with the team behind the re-development of the iconic BOATHOUSE in Millbrook, Guildford.  Following the vision of Richard Meins his impressive family has pulled together three community spaces with beautiful designs, glorious material selections and a crystal-clear ethical principle supporting the local community at all levels.
