Thwack! Kitchen worktops are hit by Christmas!

Don’t worry I don’t mean that our granite & quartz worktops are fragile and won’t be able to withstand the rigours of turkey, sprouts, sherry and all the rest.

I mean that Christmas is a time of year which really throws our market. That’s why we have a special offer every November. Let me explain…

Christmas comes with a tidal wave of pressure to get everything ready…

The kids are coming home… the inlaws are coming… Bert and Doris are coming… whoever it is for you, the house is going to be full, and you want everything to be ready and not a building site when it comes to Christmas lunch and all the rest. The kitchen project that began so well in September but dragged because the German units arrived late… or they sent the wrong hob… or the Belfast sink was cracked… suddenly you are under pressure to get things done before the family hordes descend.

This is why every year we have a glut of granite & quartz worktop orders in the September to December period. People have a deadline called Christmas Eve by which time everything MUST be done in the new kitchen. So we work our socks off up to Christmas to make sure that your family (your mother in law?!) doesn’t feel let down.

Our worktop fitting teams need a break – especially after the uintensity of the pre-Christmas rush! So we are closed for a real holiday – 24th December to 5th January this time around. We will not be installing and our office will be closed for much of this period – though you may catch someone on the phone at the tail end of that.

We work hard installing worktops before Christmas and then have a real break. Can you blame us?!

And then… January

We all know how January drags on for about 37 weeks before your next payday. And we know that “post-festivity” slack which casts a pall over all of us as we head into the New Year. Not much happens in January, as a rule. February is often much the same.

But our sawyers, polishers, and installers are back from holiday and longing to get back to installing those granite & quartz worktops all over again in the New Year. Nothing will satisfy their longing to install – expect… installation!

We need to provide them with work to do. And that is where the special offer comes in.

Every year we have a pre-Christmas Special Offer:-

We try to entice at least some customers to give up on the dream of new granite or quartz worktops for Christmas and get them to book a worktop installation in the New Year instead. This helps us to smooth our workflow, giving the lads more to do in the slack months at the start of the year, and relieving a bit of the pre-Christmas pressure.

It’s not a collosal offer, but it is significant. Margins are tight in our industry, and our 5-10% off (at least 5%) the entire cost of a worktops installatioon is a really signifcant help.
