Cosmic Black Granite

Cosmic Black is something of an old favourite for us. There are a number of similar stones available, with varying degrees of gold in their lighter veining. We have fitted worktops in Black Fusion, Belvedere, Orinoco, Black Forest, Titanium, Magma Black and more besides. Cosmic is relatively inexpensive, generally has a good, but not dominant, level of veining, and has some interesting textures in the black itself. It offers tons of visual impact at an affordable price. These matching slabs look like a good example of this stone.

Cosmic White Granite

Cosmic White granite is not simply the opposite of Cosmic Black. While the black has colour in those creamy-gold veins, good Cosmic White is very monochrome. Swirling patterns of white, grey and black give the clue to Cosmic White’s origins as a sandstone. Other related materials would be Viscount White, Duke White and (very light coloured) Silver Cloud.

All of the pairs of slabs featured in this article are batch-matched – no colour clashes here – but this pair of  Cosmic White granite slabs are also bookmatched. For details on what that is, please see our recent article on veinmatching and bookmatching.

Terra Bianca Granite

Terra Bianca granite is listed as one of our stock worktop materials, but every batch is different enough to make new arrivals noteworthy. The stone varies from a brickish/pink dominated look through to rather cooler, greener shades. The surface has a good shone. This material isn’t strictly a granite, but a kind of Dolomite – a marble which has been chemically altered over the centuries, making it harder and less prone to acid damage.

Toronto Brown Granite

Toronto Brown granite is the new kid on the block so far as I am concerned. I have not seen this stone before. In a response to the rising number of customers looking for kitchen worktops in green-hued natural stones, we have taken in some slabs of this unusual granite. Let’s see if it proves of interest to our kitchen worktop customers!
