NATURAL STONE CUTTING SAW / KOLB STONEMASONS CUTTING MACHINE

Our old Kolb saw has left us, after many years faithful service in our Charlwood, Surrey, workshop. Nothing is more basic to our business than accurate cutting to our templates, and, although regular maintenance can give a saw a long life, eventually accuracy starts to go and it is time to replace it. We have run a second saw for many years, but this one has been our main big-slab cutting tool throughout my five years at Affordable Granite, and longer. In that time the Kolb has cut tens of thousands of kitchen worktops in over 240 different stones, both natural (granite) and engineered (quartz). We are sad to see it go, but are looking forward to greater speed, automation and production capacity from its replacement. At the moment the workshop is being prepared, with new concrete footings and some electrical work, but the new saw will arrive after the Bank Holiday. Watch this space for images of the new machine.
