NEW AFFORDABLE GRANITE WORKTOP WAREHOUSE SURREY

New Workshop3a redWe are very excited to announce that, after many years operating our factory in one long shed on John Lory Farm near Charlwood, Surrey, we will shortly be operating from two long sheds – doubling our available workshop area. At the moment the building is being refurbished; having been a home to Christmas turkeys and then a repository for jet engine parts it needs some alteration to make it a suitable granite worktop factory.

One of the basic requirements in a workshop like ours is a means of safely lifting and moving the stone slabs around the building. A new concrete floor now supports the girder structure that will carry an overhead-rail crane system for moving materials into the factory from the warehousing areas. The roof is also being renewed. We still have the electrical system to put in, the two workshops must then open into each other, and the water recycling system needs to be all linked up.

We hope to take delivery of another CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine for cut outs and other granite and quartz shaping towards the end of April. The Intermac Master 33 should be operational and helping us create kitchen worktops by mid-May.

The whole project reflects our growth and confidence as a company. For some time our production bottleneck has not been in potential sales nor in our fitting teams, but in our workshop capacity. We believe that the new factory space will usher in a new phase for us as a company, with more production, and a wider range of more specialised elements of stonemasonry available in quartz, granite and Dekton.

Our aim as a company is to be the leading provider of solid stone worktops for private customers and for the kitchen trade in Surrey, Sussex, Kent and across South London. Workshop 2 is another step in that direction!
