For a number of years our biggest selling engineered stone for worktops has been granular white and we have sold many slabs of Arcadia by Cimstone. Unfortunately, the UK importers have recently had difficulty fulfilling orders for this product and we have had to look elsewhere.
We have just taken delivery of our first stock of Blanco Paloma from Quarella of Italy. This is a granular white quartz material which is marginally “warmer” than Arcadia, although to be honest the difference would only be visible with the two products side by side. The usual wholesale price of the Blanco Paloma is higher than for Arcadia, but by buying in quantity we have got close to parity, and we are absorbing the difference ourselves, as we are continuing to sell at our normal “Superior” price. This means that our customers are receiving what may be perceived to be a higher branded product with no price increase.
Granular white engineered stone is the most economical type of white quartz for worktops, and perhaps the most practical as the texture is far more user-friendly in practice, with minor dust or finger marks not drawing immediate attention.
Blanco Paloma takes its place alongside our other white quartz lines: Quantra Nexus (premium band, fine grain/smooth white); Silestone Blanco Stellar (premium band, sparkly white) and Blanco Massa/Classic Marbre Carrara (premium plus band, marbled white.) We are happy to be able to continue to offer a distinctive range of good quality white quartz worktops at a very affordable price.
