Sensa Indian Black. We recently took delivery of a number of slabs of this fabulous granite, a sealed natural stone produced by Cosentino of Spain.

It all started with a customer who came in looking for a patterned quartz with a big Wow! factor. She looked at various options, but found that most of the stones she really liked fell outside her budget. Big-scale patterns in quartz are not cheap, yet many people expect quartz to be more economical than granite. That was when we showed her the Sensa samples display… and she fell in love with the Indian Black. Once we had her slab in, other customers started seeing the stone on a big scale… and the orders started to flow.
Sensa Indian Black is Cosentino’s trade name for a stone which falls into the Cosmic Black, Fusion Black and Orinoco family. They only seem to make Sensa materials from good slabs; everything we have seen has had good patterning, with good surface polish. Black predominates with cream waves, and occasional reddish and purple crystals. The effect is stunning. Every block is different; some have far more light-coloured waves than others, but every slab we have seen has been good.

But for all the eye-catching looks, Indian Black is remarkably good value. Yes, we have more economical stones in stock, but for sheer pizzazz at a reasonable price, we think this stone is nigh-on unbeatable at the moment. Here is Wow! factor at an affordable price.
Sensa Indian Black as a name may cause some confusion. Indian Black has often been used as a trade name for other black stones from India – especially Nero Assoluto and Black Pearl, both of them long-term favourites here at Affordable Granite. You couldn’t get further from Nero Assoluto or Zimbabwe Black than this stuff!

Sensa Indian Black is just one stone in Cosentino’s Sensa range. These stones are deep-treated with a sealant so as to proof them against the deep staining that can come with high porosity, We are never very convinced of the need of this in very dark stones, but on the other hand, Cosentino only ever treat slabs which are worth treatung. The quality and excitement in Sensa slabs is very high and consistent! See their introductory video here.
