BEATING THE GRANITE WORKTOP CHRISTMAS RUSH

This is the time of year that we always refer to as the Christmas rush. Yep, it starts early in the granite worktop business. Customers often ask us why, so here is an attempt at an answer:

Don’t you think it’s time for a new kitchen, darling?

Many older kitchens can benefit by simply upgrading the worktops.

Many. Perhaps not all.

Christmas is a natural watershed in the year. More than any other week, it is where as a nation we stop, take a breather, and then restart. So, either you are going to get stuff done before it, or… you aren’t… And when it comes to couples chasing each other to get things done, it is the biggest landmark going.

Christmas is a time when families get together. It’s a fact, though I guess we all know that it has positives and negatives! For some people it means mucking in and having a good time, whatever mess prevails. For others it is a special time that warrants getting the house into great shape. Parties around Christmas, the visit from the brother in law from the Midlands who is Considerably Richer than You, Mother-in-Law stopping over – all are motivations, whether we want to admit it or not, to have the place looking good. And if that kitchen project has been kind of stuck in the pipeline all year, here is the impetus that finally gets it done.

We wrote recently about how we manage the Christmas rush, with careful handling of project sizes, mileage travelled and some limitations on supply-only work and special offers. This Blog is really a heads-up to you, the customer. The pre-Christmas slots are going fast, and we already have at least 25 kitchens booked into January. If you need to get your new kitchen worktops sorted before Christmas, don’t put it off. We have 90 installation slots left – but you can be sure that a fair number of the customers who will book those slots have already received a quote from us. Move fast while slots last!

Alternatively, remember that worktops ordered by the end of November for installation in the New Year attract a discount of at least 5% – I was able to give a customer 9% on one particular material in the last week. If Christmas is NOT the great milestone for your kitchen, then don’t miss out of our New Year granite worktop offer.

Before I sign off, here a few images of materials that we have recently bought and other photographic work which may help stimulate your colour decisions. Enjoy your Autumn!

The Sensa slabs are pre-sealed, guaranteed for 15 years,
giving you that lo-stain granite worktop peace of mind.

There are a lot of big-vein faux-marble quartzes out there;
the Eternal range is not the cheapest available,
but every product in the range has something, and they keep selling.

Fairly regularly we make a habit of photographing quartz products together. This helps so much to get a view of what is available – in this case a wide range of fairly pure whites. The differences are subtle, but at least all are photographed under the same lighting, and we can send customers a higher resolution image than we can show on here. These are really useful.

Sometimes we shoot a comparative picture of a range of stones from one manufacturer.
In this case the stunning marbled stones from Caesarstone caught our attention –
a particular customer needed several images
and we thought it would be useful to grab the lot.
