Looking through our work in Guildford over recent years it is obvious that traditional, natural stone granite worktops have lost some ground to quartz worktops. This is as everywhere else: it isn’t so much that we are doing fewer granite kitchen worktops, but that more and more people are looking for stone countertops in their kitchen, and it is quartz that has grown into that market. Man-made, engineered stone is composed of about 93% sand, glass, quartz and other minerals, and around 7% plastic resin. For more about the differences between granite and quartz worktops and their respective advantages, please see here.
In our recent “Surrey Living” photo competition we had more entries from Guildford and surrounding area than from anywhere else. Here are a few favourites from our competition and from other sources.
