Quartz Worktop Stock Update

Quartz worktop? For the very best deal at Affordable Granite you need to start by looking at our range of stock quartz. These are stones that we buy in bulk and on which we can give the best prices. We think we offer the best combination of quality AND value for granite and quartz worktops in Surrey and Sussex, and we want to help you understand why and how.

What are the advantages of buying a quartz worktop from our stock range?

  • We stock large quantities of the lines which are popular sellers.
  • These tend to be relatively affordable quartz in the first place
  • Because we buy in bulk we get the best discounts possible
  • Having large stock of single batches means that you don’t have to pay for left-over part slabs

What does that last bit mean?

Suppose the quartz worktop for your kitchen needs two and a bit big slabs of engineered stone.

If we buy material especially for you, we will need to buy THREE slabs for your job. Much as we will NOT make any profit on the part you don’t need, we do need to at least cover the basic cost, and hope than someone will buy the offcuts from us.

If you buy from our stock range, those two and a bit slabs may come out of a batch of ten slabs. All of those slabs match perfectly, and your “offcuts” will just form part of the next customer’s kitchen. You will not have to pay anything at all for part slabs used in cutting your quartz worktops.

Quartz Worktop Stock Range: Diversity

So what changes have we made to our stock quartz worktop range?

In a word, diversification. For a long time we have stocked a number of engineered stones from “big name brand” Silestone, together with several stones from less-well-known brands like Quarella and Classic Quartz. In our review of the range we have increased the overall number of big-brand stones – with Radianz and CRL coming strongly into the line-up.

One reason for this is simply not wanting to have too many eggs in one basket. Suppliers do sometimes hit problems – close relationships with several big players help to smooth things if anyone in the industry hits choppy water. And on top of that, we simply like the stones we have chosen.

With stones by Radianz coming into our stock line-up, we are committing ourselves to stocking a leading brand imported by Gerald Culliford of Kingston. Their delivery lorries are hardly strangers here, but with our volume with them on the rise, installing Culliford’s most exotic and special natural stones through Affordable Granite has never been more straightforward!

Quartz Worktop Stock Range: Focus

It may seem strange, but while diversifying in terms of manufacturers, we have actually narrowed in terms of colours! Over the past year we have sold large volumes of grey and white stones, both in natural and man-made looks. Creams and browns have slipped far down the charts. As a result, we are no longer stocking Silestone Blanco City and Silestone Crema Stellar. We should still be able to buy in these or similar materials at very good prices, but our volume turnover in the beige look just doesn’t make it sensible to go on with the same bulk buy.

Many customers are very specific in the look they are after, with a trend to smaller grain, less blingy sparkles, for instance. So, instead of a big sparkle beige alongside our black, white and grey sparklies, we are now offering small grain white and grey sparkle, giving a more subtle option in those colourways.

Obviously, not everyone will find the exact colour they want in a fairly narrow range of engineered stones. We still work with all the leading quartz worktop manufacturers and buy in on a bespoke basis for customers who are looking for something different. See here for more information.
