Granite and Quartz worktops: The Value of Case Studies
I have just finished putting up the last of a little run of case studies on our website. I have written up installations of two stock materials (BQS Capri in Kent and Classic Quartz Fiji in Sussex) and one bespoke stone (Classic Quartz Misterio in Maresfield, Sussex)

Over the fourteen years that I have worked for AG, I have added on average around three case studies each year to the website. In a way they track some of the changes in kitchen design that we have seen over this time. Early case studies were predominantly of granite worktops; over the last 6 years quartz has dominated.
What they all have in common is that we make an attempt in the case studies to talk about more than just the worktops. Our customers are generally going through a far more wide-ranging process than simply worktop selection. So many choices – so many expensive choices! We try to provide as much info as we can on other elements of the kitchen. We want to help our customers achieve the kitchen they really want.
Granite or quartz worktops may be the crowinging glory of a kitchen – but they are only a small part of the whole and we want to be helpful with it all!
With the exception of this display in the Kitchen Design Hub showroom in Uckfield, East Sussex, all of our case studies are of real homes inhabited by real people. We are grateful to all our customers who allowed us to photograph in their homes, and plaster their brand new kitchens all over the internet!
Marbre Carrara worktops in Westminster – a shared case study
Most of our case studies are funded by AG alone, but in a few cases we have split the costs with a joiner/furniture maker/kitchen company. That goes for the recent Kitchen Design Hub case studies and this one in Westminster, where we collaborated with our neighbour, Nick Geard Furniture. We love working with real craftsmen, both during the installation and in the way we can display the work afterwards.
We believe that our case studies are one of the most useful parts of our website, and we intend to keep on gradually adding to the collection. Any feedback or suggestions would be gratefully received!
